A pilot non destructive Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) survey was implemented from
Terramarine in collaboration with the Laboratory of Electrical Characterization of Materials and
Electronic Devices of the Department of Electronic Engineering (Technological Educational
Institute of Athens) and the Laboratory of Testing and materials of the National Technical
University of Athens by using Mala Geoscience 1,6 & 2,3 GHz high frequency antenna for the
determination of the mechanical and structural status of specific marble units at Parthenon
temple – Acropolis.
